Our vision: Quality of life
A green environment makes people happy. A beautiful view does too. When you build neighbourhoods, you’re building lives. That’s why we always invest heavily in quality of life.

A home is more than four walls. A home is about the view, the joy of living, the neighbourhood. That’s why we focus on creating areas with high quality of life – adding greenery wherever possible, integrating climate-saving measures, and designing low-traffic environments. As a developer, we take our responsibility towards the environment, society, and the planet very seriously. Every day, we look for ways to make things greener, smarter, and better.

This is how we do it.

How can we save water and bring renewable energy directly to residents? And how can we be as self-sufficient as possible in doing so? Every day, we think about innovative solutions to complex ecological challenges.

Because living comfort comes first, we carry out in-depth studies on environmental noise, sun orientation, sightlines, and more. Based on these insights, we design homes that offer optimal sound insulation, natural light, and views.

We provide and promote low-footprint mobility options: shared cars, charging stations, additional bicycle storage, and underground parking to keep our neighbourhoods largely car-free.

On every available square metre, we create additional green spaces: parks, green roofs, vertical gardens, urban forests, orchards, vegetable gardens, greenhouses, courtyards, play ponds, rainwater buffers (wadis), etc.

We build with sustainable materials, follow the strictest energy standards, and go even further wherever possible (with geothermal energy fields, solar panels, central waste sorting facilities, etc.).

A sustainable way of working

We reuse excavated soil to raise other parts of the site and reduce truck traffic. For example, we elevated a section of the Scheldt Quays in Antwerp, eliminating the need to raise the flood protection wall at that location.

Focus on sustainable energy

At Nieuw Zuid, we built Belgium’s largest district heating network, with plans to connect additional parts of Antwerp in the future. This system uses sustainable energy sources like residual heat from industry or water treatment plants. At Tuinen van Eden in Wilrijk, we’re building the largest residential geothermal field (BTES system) in Flanders.

Shared garden zones

At the Slachthuis site, shared vegetable gardens and greenhouses will be introduced. At Tuinen van Eden, there will be a community garden area and an orchard.

Additional green space at Nieuw Zuid

Two-thirds of Nieuw Zuid is reserved for greenery. The 86 trees, 1,000 shrubs, and 1,200 plants on the roofs and terraces of the Palazzo Verde building alone purify 5 tons of CO₂ from the air.
