Ask someone where they live, and they’ll spontaneously talk about their neighbourhood or city. A house is just a house. It’s the people, the street, and the district that make it a home. That’s why we build human-scale neighbourhoods, with homes and shops, restaurants, cafés, and small parks. A neighbourhood should be alive. That’s why we believe in the power of dynamic and welcoming districts with a strong community spirit and a strong connection to the city.
This is how we do it.
We talk to people: to local residents, public authorities and administrations, architects, and future residents. Even after final delivery, we stay present and maintain contact with our residents.
In addition to homes, we also build offices, schools, shops, studios, hospitality spaces, and more. We actively seek out entrepreneurs who fit the spirit of the neighbourhood and meet the needs of its residents.
We aim to appeal to as broad an audience as possible, offering a wide variety of housing types, including studios, assisted living units, and single-family homes.
Everything should be within walking distance and easily accessible to residents, following the five-minute neighbourhood principle.
Social connections are essential to a neighbourhood’s atmosphere. That’s why we create inviting corners, squares, and parks. In and around the buildings, we design shared gardens and terraces.
Lively community activities
At Nieuw Zuid, we host De Lettermarkt every month—a cosy book market where visitors can also enjoy food and drinks. We also collaborate with Circuit, a circular experience hub, and organise events with and for residents, such as a New Year’s reception and Easter egg hunt.
Innovative housing concepts
To meet the growing demand for high-quality family homes in the city, we are building duplex penthouses at the Slachthuis site: three-bedroom homes with two floors and a rooftop garden or terrace – situated on the top floors of apartment buildings.
Meaningful collaborations
At the Slachthuis site, we provide free spaces for the artist collective Rooftoptiger. At Nieuw Zuid, we open our exhibition space to artists and work with local food businesses to cater neighbourhood events.
Places to meet
At Nieuw Zuid, we’ve built a running track on the roof of the HÅVN building and a footpath through the site. Shared rooftop gardens and common areas offer residents extra space and places to connect.
